The Optiven Foundation was honored to take part in the Waste Symposium 2025, an event organized by the Youth Green Society (YGS) under the visionary leadership of Kimani Mithamo. This gathering brought together environmental champions, policymakers, and organizations united by a common goal, to accelerate Kenya’s transition toward a zero-waste future. With active participation from the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and Nairobi City County (NCC), the symposium offered rich panel discussions and expert insights on waste management policies, youth inclusion, and the urgent need for circular economy solutions. As a Foundation rooted in sustainability and community empowerment, Optiven Foundation was proud to stand alongside other stakeholders advocating for clean, green, and dignified living for all Kenyans.

The event featured engaging exhibitions highlighting innovative waste solutions, along with insightful discussions on fostering green jobs and aligning actions with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It served as a strong reminder that meaningful, sustainable change happens when we work together. The Optiven Foundation, through its ongoing #GoGreenNaOptiven campaign, continues to push for behavior change, environmental stewardship, and grassroots awareness.

Events like the #WasteSymposium2025 highlight the urgency of rethinking waste—not as trash, but as a resource. They also reinforce the role of youth and private organizations in crafting long-term, practical solutions that benefit both people and the planet. As we keep our #EyesOnTheCommunity, we invite partners, innovators, and changemakers to join hands with us in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Kenya. Let’s turn waste into opportunity—because the future is circular.
