The Optiven Foundation recently paid a visit to one of their long term beneficiaries, Olive Mugo, who has been on attachment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for over 2 and a half months.
Olive is currently pursuing a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Nyeri. Her academic journey with Optiven Foundation dates back to her first year in high school demonstrating the sustained commitment.
During her attachment at KNH, Mugo is working under supervisor Daniel Kimathi, Principal Medical Laboratory Technologist in the blood transfusion unit. The department is known for its extensive research and serves as a great platform for various students in the medical field as he explains.
Speaking about the Foundation’s support, Olive Mugo expressed deep gratitude for the support that has enabled her to pursue her dreams, “The Optiven Foundation has enabled me and many others to believe that dreams are valid,” she shared.
The Optiven Foundation through its various programs continues to empower underprivileged students providing scholarships, mentorship and career support. As Olive continues with her journey we remain committed to walking with her on her journey and many other beneficiaries
