
Over 450 members of the Vipingo Community gathered at the Ocean View Ridge Vipingo project by Optiven. The gathering was a part of initiatives by the Optiven Foundation under it’s Poverty Eradication and Health Pillars. The event held on 11th December 2025 saw the beneficiaries taking home food stuff which was distributed at the project in partnership with the local administration led by Miferejini Chief and security officers.

Speaking at the event the government representatives appreciated the action taken by the Optiven Foundation to feed the community. Ann Nyaga, the Optiven Foundation Cordinator while speaking at the event encouraged the community to embrace the Optiven family who had invested in the area.

According to Nyaga, the exercise to distribute the food is part of the company’s vision to empower the community through the Feed 1 More initiatives. Cathrine Khasoa, Manager for Corporate Affairs at Optiven called on the parents to take care of their children by ensuring they stay away from drugs and early pregnancies.

According to Catherine she advised the parents to focus on their children’’ education in order to give them better opportunities for the future. Also present at the event were staff serving at the Ocean View Ridge Vipingo office who shared information about the project during the food donation exercise.

The drive to give food and other donations is a regular event under the Optiven Foundation which targets the less privileged members of the community. The exercise is made possible via partnership with stakeholders.
