The Optiven Group together with the Optiven Foundation joined hands with the Success Gardens community in Gatanga to plant trees. The event held on 3rd December 2025 saw over 200 trees planted at the project in an exercise that was attended by the residents and local administration.

Speaking at the event, Dr. George Wachiuri encouraged the residents to take full ownership of the project, while at the same time thanking those who had completed building their homes and living at the project. According to Wachiuri, the project will be as good as the residents decision to make it so in terms of improving on the current value additions and upscaling the project to a better dwelling. He noted that Optiven had completed it’s mandate in providing the necessary infrastructure as pertains to provision of value additions.

She noted that trees are the source of life, without which there would be no inhabitants on the planet. She added that for Optiven, greening is at the core of it’s operations having won many awards for it’s sustainability initiatives

Her sentiments were echoed by Ann Nyaga the Cordinator of the Optiven Foundation who shared that the Optiven Foundation pillar on environment is at the core of engaging investors to go green in the different projects.

Later, the team together with the residents of Success Gardens had an opportunity to plant trees. The local administrators who joined in the exercise also called on Optiven to continue partnering in greening especially during the first Friday of the month when they grow trees across the ward.
