On the 26th of May 2022 we delivered a gift to one of our beneficiaries, Mr John, a resident of Makuyu, Murang’a county. The gift came in form of a special wheelchair. Mzee John suffered paralysis in the year and could not afford treatment as it was quite expensive.
He has since been unable to walk, and had to be carried around on a wheelbarrow. It became impossible for him to work and the responsibility of catering for his family’s needs was left to his wife, which has been a heavy burden for the family.
The wheelchair will not only allow Mr John to move around comfortably, but also help him conduct his small business, which will economically uplift him. Thanks to Optiven Foundation through #MobilityThatBringsASmile
