As we prepare for the International Day of Forests 2024 with the theme “Forests and Innovation: New Solutions for a better world”, we have launched the Go Green na Optiven campaign in the presence of the Foundation trustee, Dr. Wachiuri. After a successful first series, this second instalment promises to be more significant with a clear plan, more involvement and awards right at the end.

The Go Green na Optiven campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and inspire individuals, communities and businesses to adopt an eco-friendly approach”, said Dr. Wachiuri during the unveiling.

The Go Green initiative is not just a noble cause but an imperative necessity as we educate individuals and organizations leading charge in environmental responsibility. Already we have identified over 20 learning institutions from over 15 counties to collaborate with each receiving 100 seedlings as per their region.

After 4 months the first assessment will be conducted online through the use of photos and videos, thereafter the second assessment coming 2 months later based on seedling survival, innovation and nurturing creativity of the trees.

We will create awareness, educate and train specifically the students with the #GrowingaSustainableFuture and later award, not only the top 3 schools who complied but also the most active and innovative students,” The Optiven Foundation coordinator Ann Nyagah stated.

We believe that by going green, we not only safeguard our national resources but also pave the way for a better quality of life for present and future generations. https://www.optiven.co.ke/newsblogs/going-green-is-the-new-normal/
