As the country continues to battle Covid-19 Pandemic, Needy Households in Mathare Slums Receive Donations From Optiven Foundation to help sustain their livelihood affected by Covid-19. Beneficiaries of #SpreadingHope campaign from Mathare Slum in Nairobi, share their story with Optiven Foundation
1. Beatrice Amollo
“I am a single mother of 3 children, i have been hawking in the streets of Nairobi to fend for my family. This pandemic has really affected the business, for days now my children lack food. My daughter fell ill when i delivered her in February, since then i have been seeking for support from well wishers. I’m glad that Optiven Foundation has supported me with food donation during this pandemic” she narrates
2. Leilah Omondi
“Here in Mathare they call me Mama mboga. I haven’t been doing business for months now because it’s costly to purchase the foodstuffs to sell to the residents. I have been washing clothes in the neighborhood to fend for my family, when there’s no work we sleep hungry. I thank Optiven for Supporting me for the foodstuffs. _Asante” she speaks.
3. Eunice Waithaka
“I am a mother of two children , My husband had lost his job from the matatu sacco, we are a new couple, with a young family , he was the breadwinner and now we are at home ,nothing to eat until Optiven came to support us,” she speaks
