Following the scarcity of rain in the Kenya’s Arid and Semi- (ASAL) region, a severe drought in at least 40 years has hit the region leaving at least 4.2 million Kenyans in need of humanitarian assistance. On 5th November, Optiven Foundation extended it’s charity arm that focused on food distribution in the arid part of Nyeri: Kieni

Through the Feed One More program, the Foundation is keenly complementing both Government and other non-governmental organizations in reducing the direct effects of this drought. Apparently, hundreds of Kenyans in Kajiado, Laikipia, parts of Nairobi and now Nyeri have been able to benefit from the food distribution drive. The drive is headed to other affected counties.
