Optiven Foundation and Fusion Capital came together to sign a one million five hundred thousand shilling partnership at the Optiven Global Office in Karen to support the Foundation pillars and specifically Poverty Alleviation and Education pillar.

The funding is directed to benefit students where it allows them an opportunity to join primary, secondary and higher learning institutions across Kenya with focus on those from marginalised communities. The event was hosted by Mr. George Wachiuri, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Optiven Group Foundation with the presence of Optiven Director for Strategy and Operations Mary Wacuka and the Director for Projects Charles Muranguri.

George Wachiuri stated the donation will be channeled to cater and transform lives that the Optiven Foundation supports and would be for the greater good to benefit the less fortunate. “We are grateful to Fusion Capital for their generous donation. This will help us elevate the poverty levels and provide educational opportunities to many students who would otherwise not be able to afford it,” he stated.

This is not the first time that Fusion Capital has partnered with the Foundation and the positive impact throughout the past three years has brought them together. “This is why we remain grateful to the different stakeholders that have been deliberate to partner with us in order to see transformational differences in our society,” George Wachiuri added.

These philanthropic organisations have come together to provide scholarships to over 8000 deserving students and this new donation will further expand the reach of the Soaring Eagle Scholarship Program. The Foundation’s program has been designed to give hope to bright, deserving children by giving them the opportunity to obtain an education and resultant benefits including better educational outcomes, improved chances of success in life, increased gender equality in secondary school education, new opportunities for students from rural areas to access education and greater social integration among students.

Daniel Kamau in his capacity as the Chief Executive at Fusion Capital acknowledged the difference Optiven Foundation is making with their Soaring Eagles Scholarship Program. “We at Fusion believe in being responsible members of the communities in which we invest. We know that education is the key to a better future, and we want to do our part to help ensure that all children have access to quality education.”

The Optiven Foundation has this year traverse several counties reaching out to the arid and semi-arid regions supported by their pillars Poverty Alleviation, Education, Environmental Protection and Health. Raising the living standards both socially and economically has been the objective by providing resources to better equip and protect these individuals.
